The R1100R L is a special version available in limited quantities for 2001. At only $8,990 it is by far the least expensive bike in BMW's boxer twin lineup. Classic black paint with hand-painted white pinstripes create in image of BMW tradition while functionally the RL is thoroughly modern.

A modern standard, the RL features BMW's patented telelever front and paralever rear suspension and 80 horsepower boxer twin engine.
