The number one selling model in 1999 is back for model year 2000. Within the short three months this unit has been available, it has won serveral distinguished awards and remains in demand. Available in the same three versions and colors, the K 1200 LT model has several new model options. All United States models have ABS, electronically controlled windshield, hazard warning flasher, radio, and catalytic converter. The different options and equipment separates the different models.
K 1200 LT C

The K 1200 LT C is a fully accessorized flagship model. The only standard equipment that varies from prior model year to curret model year is the seat. Model year(MY) 2000 will not have the soft touch seat, however, it will be heated in conjunction with the back rest. BMW's decision to place the regular seat on this unit was based on demand, it is approximately 1/2 inch shorter than the soft touch seat. The soft touch seat is available as an accessory.

BMW's second largest selling model will return in a variation of colors. BMW will offer a special model that is outlined below. The standard model and the new special model will include a new feature which automatically returns the turn signal. Yes! BMW's standard equipped model will include: ABS, hazard warning flashers, wire wheels and beautiful hand pin stripping.

R 1200 C Special Model
The R 1200 C Special is available in September, and will be equipped with a variation of painted parts vs. the standard chrome or silver painted parts. They will be painted in a "grafitan look"-a graphite paint which is chip resistant in design. The following parts have been modified for the grafitan look: front fork sliders, fork bridge, trailing arm, instrument bracket, turn signal stalks, turn signal housing, handlebar clamps, fuel cap outer contour, frame, rear frame, footrest, rear luggage rack, backrest adjuster, and tail-light housing. The following components are painted black: starter cover, swing arm, final drive, engine, and transmission. This unit is also equipped with a different style of handle bars which represents the difference between the standard bars and low bars.

For those of you who understand touring like no one else, the R 1100 RT is back and ready for you. Primarily, only the colors change this Model Year. BMW will offer a special optional model which will include both a comfort seat and a top box. The saddle bag lids and the top box lid will be color matched to this unit in color code #704 Graphite Metallic.

The only change from Model Year '99 to Model Year 2000 is the charging system. The R 1100 S will have an enhanced alternator and battery which is equipped on the ABS version. This unit also retains the center stand and seat cowl of 1999 MY.

The R 1100 SA Special Model is the only model to come in the special two-tone paint color code #747 Mandarin/Silver. The R 1100 SA Special Model will be equipped with the sport suspension package in conjunction with the larger 5.5 inch rear wheel. As a result of installing the sport suspension the optional center stand cannot be fitted to this unit. Production of this model will be limited to 200 units!
